I'll Be Speaking At Family Travel For Real Life, Aug. 23d @ Wash/Dulles

Amazing what you can get on Fiverr!
Among my greatest passions are my family, and travel.Mixing the two can be a challenge, especially for an award travel enthusiast/travel hacker like myself.

You see, airlines are incredibly stingy about releasing award seats at their lowest mileage levels. Its not too hard to get lucky finding one seat, but two can be a challenge. Airlines tend to laugh at me when I look for four award seats on one flight, but it is possible.

So join me at the Hyatt House Dulles Airport on Saturday, August 23d, and I'll show you how to use your points for family award travel. My friend Dia Adams of The Deal Mommy is presenting the "Family Travel for Real Life" seminar which will include myself and a bunch of other great speakers.

See you there!

Denver Travel Hackers Mini-Do - July 2d

My travel hacking friends have repeatedly expressed desire to get together and meet each other, so I am finally going to make it happen.

It will probably be just a handful of us the first time, but feel free to invite your friends who are fellow travel rewards enthusiasts. I'll be sure to post this on FlyerTalk,  MilePoint as well.
If we get a good turn out, perhaps we can grow this thing in the future and be hosted by one of the many travel industry businesses in Denver or at the airport.

Let's meet on Wednesday, July 2d at 6pm at:

Lala's Wine Bar and Pizzeria
410 E 7th Ave
Denver, CO 80203

It's centrally located, has great food and drinks, and free parking on the street and in back.

RSVP not required, but please reply and let me know if you can make it. jasondsteele (at) gmail.com

New Post For On Your Own

Smart About Money
On Your Own is a site for your adults produced by NEFE, National Endowment for Financial Education. As they are based in Denver, I met some of their staff at our regular FinCon local events that I organized (FinCon is the national financial bloggers conference).

I am proud to be featured on their web site recently with an article Ask the Expert: 4 First-Time Credit Card Mistakes. While technically, I no longer can call myself a "young adult," I still feel like I can identify with the financial challenges facing those who are just started out. By the time that changes, I will probably helping my own children as they go out on their own.
